Question : Hi , I had some pain in my left ovary when I was having sex with my husband 5 days ago and I was having the pain when I was coming 4 few moments and once I finished coming the pain stopped but kept on having heaviness in both ovary and mild going and coming pain on both sides ...today also had the same pain when I was coming while I was coming only ..I am 53 years old and my period stopped 18 month a go ..can you please help me 2 know what's wrong with me and what 2 do please

The feeling of pain and heaviness in the lower abdomen during the orgasm can be due to the uterine contractions and pelvic muscle contractions. This is not suggestive of any pathology. Since you are post menopausal the muscle spasm can cause a persistent ache in the area. You can start taking Vitamin B complex and Vitamin D3 supplements along with calcium to help this.

Hi Dr XXXXXXX , thanks for responding .. I wanted 2 explain that the pain I felt during orgasm was precisely in my left ovary for moments 6 days a go and again yesturday again left ovary and during the orgasm only ... my question why only left ovary both times ? And the heavInes I feel it in my lower abdomen will last for 4 hours.... why 2 times in my left ovary and not right one ..is there something wrong with my left over maybe ? Although I had some pain going and coming I'm my right ovary 4 few hours after the orgasm .. thankks

If the pain was specially restricted to left ovary then it can be related to an ovarian cyst or any other pathology. It is best to get an ultrasound scan done to find out.
