What Does Pain And Soreness In The Genitals Indicate?

default
Posted on Mon, 6 Apr 2015
Question: I have a sore on my pubic area above my penis that I am concerned about. I have begun a new sexual relationship with a female about two weeks ago, and I am concerned it could be herpes. I may just be paranoid, but I am finding it hard to get into seeing a doctor. I found the sore yesterday. The whole sore was about 7 mm wide and the center was white-ish. The white area was about 4-5 mm. The whole area is just red now. It is kind of hard to the touch and a little tender. However, it doesn't hurt unless I touch it.

Brief Answer:
In all probabilities the single lesion is not due to Herpes.

Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXXXXX Welcome to Health Care Magic.Thank you for posting your query. I went through the entire post. I can understand your concern .

It would have been great had I seen and examined the lesion on my own. But from what you have described it seems like the lesion may be called a chancroid which is a sexually transmitted disease occurring due to a bacterial infection called Hemophilus Ducreyi, or it can be a bubo which is actually an inflammed lymph node.

Do not worry . Don't get paranoid about this.

Visit a doctor. Don't feel shy . He/she can examine you , advise you some investigations and correlate clinically.

You can take tablet Azithromycin and tablet Doxycycline. Your doctor can guide on the exact dosage.

You should abstain from unprotected sexual intercourse while undergoing treatment.

Do not worry. With proper treatment it can be cured.
