What Does Pain At The Base Of Tongue Indicate?

Question: Does the bottom of my tongue look normal? It kinda hurts like there is a sore but i dont see anything. It is red.
Brief Answer:
small cysts
Detailed Answer:
Hello and thank you for your question.
You do have two small cysts on the frenulum of your tongue. The tongue otherwise looks normal. The frenulum is the small piece of tissue that is in the midline under the tongue and attaches it to the floor of the mouth. These cysts could be what are causing you the discomfort. If you will google lingual frenulum and look under images, you will see what a normal frenulum looks like. These cysts are probably not anything to worry about but if you are having pain you should see a doctor that can take a close look and biopsy the area if needed.
I hope that you are out of pain soon

How long will they be there until? What can i do to help them go away? Is it serious? And i am about to start my period does that have anything to do with it?
Brief Answer:
get a doctor to look at this
Detailed Answer:
Hello and thanks for your follow up.
I do not know how long they will be there. It would be good to have a doctor to look at the in person. I doubt it has anything to do with your period. If they are hurting you you may need to get a biopsy of them to see what they are. See your doctor as soon as you can.

They dont hurt that much anymore. I think they are going away! I also have another question. For the past 6 months i have been getting myself worried sick over many things. I dont know why, it just started happening to me. I freak out over everything and think of all the possible things that can be wrong with me. I get fatigue, cant sleep in, my body gets trembly, my muscles get weak. How can i stop all of this?
Brief Answer:
exercise/sleep/meditation/counseling
Detailed Answer:
Hello and thanks for your follow up.
It sounds like you may be having some anxiety. There are several ways to treat that. Regular exercise and getting plenty of sleep helps. Avoiding caffeine and alcohol is a good idea since they can make anxiety worse. Regular meditation or yoga may help. If these things are not helping over time then seeing a counselor regularly or talking to your doctor about medications are also options. When you find yourself getting worried about something try distracting yourself by changing things around. Listen to music, go for a walk, talk to a friend, anything to get your mind to go in a different direction.
Good luck and I hope you get to feeling better soon
