default
Posted on Thu, 10 Nov 2016
Question: Hello, I have been having sudden debilitating pain in certain areas all over my body. It stays perdominently on the right side, and effects the joints. My elbow, right ankle/lower calf, behind my shoulder blade, and in my hand. I am unable to move certain areas with in a second of time. For example I'll be walking and all of a sudden can no longer walk on my right foot the injury will remain for a day or so and then seem to get better. The pain also seems to be moving around and occasionally shows up on my left side.

Brief Answer:
Oral steroid medications will help.

Detailed Answer:
Hello Mam.

I can certainly understand your concern.

You possibly seem to multiple migrating joint pains.

This requires an autoimmune connective tissue disorder to be preliminarily ruled out.

For this I advise you to get an ANA profile testing done.

A short courses of steroid pills can help you to get better well.

I generally prescribe oral pills of Prednisolone 5mg once day in the morning at 7 am for 2 weeks to my patients with such symptoms.

Please check with your physician if he shares my view and if can prescribe these pills to you.

Further management if any is largely based on test results and clinical improvement.

Post your further queries if any.
Thank you.
