Question: Hi. For the past 2 weeks ive been having this discomfort in my right upper abdomen. Its not pain or anything, it just feels like theres a mass or large bubble in my abdomen. Its freaking me out, and it feels like something could burst. Again, no pain, just uncomfortable. My bowels are fine and ive been eating regularly. Help?

Detailed Answer:
I warmly Welcome you!

Thanks for consulting me at virtual clinic. I have carefully worked through your case, and I can realize your health worries. Being your physician, I assure you not to worry as I will take care all of your medical concerns.

Mass in right side of the abdomen, just below the ribs may be due to:
* Liver mass, or Liver enlargement, and a lot more liver related abnormalities.
* Sometimes the patient feels Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm over the area more towards the middle.
* Duodenal hematoma
* Epigastric hernia
etc, etc

As it's not a medical emergency, I suggest you to please consult a Physician in person as per your ease and get yourself checked. He will do General physical exam as a whole and examination of the mass in special. He will run a battery of tests on you and may also refer you for an abdominal ultrasound. I want to add up that ask him to screen you for Hepatitis in special.
Your Ultrasound specialist will tell you if there is any mass, cyst, or abscess in the liver, or liver is fatty due to some disease and also portal vein diameter which all are descriptive in hepatitis and liver cirrhosis (It looks unlikely to me though in your case).

Otherwise, you are doing very well. You don't need any kind of specific treatment at this point of time.

Hope it helps today. If you need further, detailed and quick assistance related to any health issues, feel free to 'ask me a question' directly from my profile. You can also attach Lab reports and pictures with direct question.

May you get very well soon and have a wonderful time ahead. Please don't forget to give your valuable feedback and five star rating, to help me assist you in a better way. Please, write a review about your experience with me.

Brief Answer:
It seems to be due to stomach upset, Bloating etc.

Detailed Answer:
I welcome you back. No need for sorry. It happens sometimes at virtual clinics.

Well we will shift from liver to the Stomach, Abdominal aorta, spleen and pancreas. But you have no medical emergency signs and symptoms. So same workup is needed from a Physician and an Ultrasound abdomen to rule out extra-gastric issues.

I now recommend you to take Omeprazole 40mg per oral twice daily before meals for 7days. Gas-X Extra Strength 2 tablets per oral twice daily for 5days.

Hope it helps today. May you get very well soon and have a wonderful time ahead.

Regards!
