What Does Persistent Dizziness Suggest?

default
Posted on Mon, 12 Oct 2015
Question: Any clue what would cause dizziness? I've been getting it daily for the past few weeks now. Although it has gotten better. It happens I noticed when I'm leaning over or get overheated. I am having my hormones checked to rule any of that out, but it's driving me crazy trying to figure it out.

Brief Answer:
Consult a neurologist and follow the advice as below

Detailed Answer:
Hello dear,
I have gone through your question and understand your concerns.
Episodic postural dizziness may be due to benign paroxysmal positional vertigo. the associated features also include nausea or vomiting along with vertigo.
Other possibility may be stress related as it is aggravated with anxiety.
Any history of headache?
In presence of headache you need to be evaluated for migraine and get treated for that.
In my patients with such complains I prefer Flunarizine 10 mg once and amitriptyline 10 mg night for 2-4 weeks.
Consult a neurologist for proper evaluation, examination and treatment.
Get your blood pressure also measured.
Hope you found the answer helpful.
