What Does Poor R Wave Progression In Ecg Mean?

Welcome to Health Care Magic
R wave is the upright wave in ECG. Usually, it increases in height from the right to left chest leads - V1 to V6. If its height is more on right leads than the left / or less than 4 mm in mid-pre-cordial leads (V3 & V4), it is called poor R wave progression.
The usual causes are wrong placement of the chest lead / conduction defect like Bundle Branch Block / bypass tracts / ventricular enlargement / heart attack involving the anterior portions / congenital heart disease / and so on.
It is a technical jargon for analysis by the doctor! Also, the ECG has to be interpreted in relation to the total clinical picture / not as individual entity. Further evaluation by blood test, ECHOcardiography and so on may be required...
