Question : I am positive for the" Kit test", does that necessarily mean cancer?

                                    Brief Answer:
no
Detailed Answer:
Hi and welcome.
Such test is used to detect traces of blood in stool and this may be sign of cancer but also, of some benign diseases such as polyps, angiodysplasie, hemorhhoids or diverticulosis. In your age, cancer should be always ruled out so colonoscopy must be done, but as I said, this is not necessarily sign of cancer and it is hard talk about chances, however, we can say that this is around 20-25%. If you dont have other symptoms such as weight loss, pain or stool shape changes, then cancer diagnosis is not likely and I hope, this wont be in your case. Wish you good health. Regards
