Question: I am sort of embarrassed about the nature of this question, but today, I had a littleblood when I wiped after a bowel movement. I think it's nothing, but my father had colorectal cancer, and I was feeling a bit paranoid.

Brief Answer:
Might be piles, Plenty of water, high fiber diet

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Welcome
I have gone through your query.
I would like to know few more information like
Since when you have this problem? Or is it for the first time.
Is there any history of constipation?
Is there any difficulty while passing stool?
Is there any bulge at the anal opening?

Based on the information it might be due to piles. But it requires an examination to confirm. So I would suggest you to see general surgeon for help.
I would suggest you the following which will definitely help
1. Increase water consumption: Consume at least 2 to 3 liter of water per day.
2. High fiber diet: Two serving of vegetable salad everyday, avoid spicy food, alcohol, smoking and meat.
3. Hot Seitz bath : Add a handful of common table salt to a tub of lukewarm water. Immerse your bottom by sitting in it for 15 to 20 minutes each session twice a day. It will decrease pain and inflammatory oedema.
4. Stool softener: Syrup Lactulose 10 ml twice a day will keep the stools soft preventing constipation and decreases bleeding and pain.

Hope this helps
Take care
