Question : My wife recently had a urine routine and there are 3-4 white blood/pus cells and she has few epithelial cells. She is having an infection in her Urine? If so, what should she do to avoid it?

Hello
Thanks for query .Based on the report of routine urine test of your wife presence of 3-4 pus cells and epithelial cells suggests mild UTI.

Get her urine culture done to trace out the organisms causing this infection and their antibiotic sensitivity so that she can be given appropriate antibiotic to eradicate infection .

In the mean while you can give her Ciprofloxacin and Nitrofurantoin twice daily and later on switch on to appropriate antibiotic as pr culture report .

Ensure she drinks more water to keep her urine dilute .
