Question: i am 12 week pregnant. my rubella igg was >500 and igm was 1.02.wat this means? i am really worried............ please help me....

Your Rubella titres are indicative of infection. Avidity testing is necessary to determine if you are suffering from primary infection or not. High avidity indicates non-primary infection and also has low risk for transmission to the fetus. Low avidity indicates primary infection.

IgG shows immunity acquired either through vaccination or past infection while IgM shows recent infection. Presence of IgG is not harmful to pregnancy while IgM is harmful.

The risk of congenital malformation at your stage of pregnancy is around 33% and I am sorry to say, that MTP may be the best solution in your case. Please decide on the further course of action after consulting an expert in high risk pregnancy in person.
