Question: My wife is pregnant with 6weeks. She has been advised to take 1 mifrepin orally with water 2 days back. And followed by 2 tablets of misoprost today administered under the tongue(ie, after 48 hours since taking mifrepin). And another 2 tablets tomorrow. Her abdomen is great pain today. Is it normal.

Brief Answer:
Process of abortion has started

Detailed Answer:
Hi dear,
I have gone through your question and understand your concerns.
The pain in the abdomen and the bleeding is suggestive of the fact that the abortion process has started.
The medicines are administered rightly and in correct doses.
The pain is more than the menstrual cramps and the bleeding is almost similar or slightly more than the periods.
The bleeding is likely to continue for 7-10 days.
She can take mefenamic acid tablets for pain relief.
If the pain is unbearable, then she should consult her doctor for proper examination and treatment accordingly.
Hope you found the answer helpful.
