Question : I started taking Crestor 5mg one week ago. I had vomiting with Lipitor. My doctor reduced Norvasc from 10mg to 5mg because of leg swelling. When I took the Crestor with my evening meal, about two hours later my legs started itching badly. I took Benadryl and am wondering if I am reacting to the Crestor. There are no other changes in my other medications. Ken Braun

It is possible that you are having some type of allergic reaction to the Crestor. I would recommend that you discuss this with your primary care doctor as soon as possible. It would be reasonable to discontinue the medication until you talk to your doctor.

Regarding the itching, if this does not improve with the Benadryl or if the symptoms worsenthen it might be reasonable to Sica valuation at a local urgent care center if there is one available.

Cholesterol medication such as Crestor can affect the liver function and can have a multitude of side effects. It is difficult to directly link the Crestor to the symptoms you her having today but I think we need to assume it is the Crestor until proven otherwise.
