Question : I'm sorry to be bothering you don't soon, but I hap pretty severe pain on my lower right side and upper leg while sleeping last night. When I was in college I had pain in my right hip which the doctor said was rheumatism. It went away when I was pregnant with my first child. Could these be related?

Brief Answer:
Can be due to spondylosis.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for posting your query.
The pain in hip radiating to the leg can be due to spondylottic changes in the spine which are age related degenerative changes of spine.
The following measures will help with the pain
• Lie on a hard bed.
• Anti -inflammatory drugs like Tablet Motrin 1 tablet as and when required ( do not repeat a dose before 6 hours) with food will help relieve the pain.
• Correct your posture while sitting
• Avoid prolonged sitting
• Avoid strenuous activity & lifting heavy weights.
• Apply diclofenac gel on the affected area. Warm compresses will also help.

I hope this answers your query.
