What Does Slightly Higher Blood Sugar Value Even After Metformin Usage Indicate?

Question: I have been taking Metformin 500 mg SR one in the morning and one in the night. initially my sugar was below 120 during fasting.. now it is between 120 - 130. Is there anything that I need to change or should I pursue more on exercise and diet?

Sir, The blood sugar value of 120-130 is slightly higher to normal(<110mg/dl.). Its not too high to worry much. Just check out HbA1c value once. If that value is between 6.5%- 7.0%, You need not worry much and concentrate on your diet and exercise.

If That is higher, then you need discuss with you treating doctor regarding increase of dose of the drug or addition of new drug.
