Question : sir unprotected sex on 23rd last month.took ipill within 11hrs.spotting 14 days after taking ipill.is it a side-effect? periods due on 10th. worried. thanks

no other medicine taken. had sex on 23rd last month and ejaculated twice well outside using withdrawal method. after that took ipill within 11 hours. had unprotected sex again on 25 and 26 as well. no medicines taken afterwards. after that on 3rd present month had spotting with foul smell. tiny drop only. periods are due on 11th this month. extremely worried. about chances of pregnancy.
1. is it normal to spot as side effect of ipill
2. is it necessary that bleeding has to occur after taking pill.
3. itchiness and constipation and gas was observed between 31st and 3rd. is it a side-effect or anything else

I am Dr.Muhammad Ahmad, I have read your question, I understand your concern and will try to help you in the best possible way.

Well , ipill has a short duration of action you had sex again after 3 days though it's within 72 hours of ipill effective time but still 3rd day is dangerous one you should have taken another.

It is a side effect of ipill to spot , usually it happens immediately after taking the pill. BNut sometimes it doesn't happen specially of you take it immediately after your period.

AIn my opinion your chances of being pregnant are low but 100% saftey can not be guaranteed.

If you are spotting don't panic just give it a couple of days and see what happens.

Secondly I want to tell you that bloating gas and constipation are NOT signs of pregnancy neither are they signs of any other wporrying issue they might just me conincidental thing happened to you , but you are just getting anxious because of your fear of pregnancy.

I would suggest ypou not to panic, just take an antacid and use high fiber diet with loads of water,

Wait for your periods if you get them you have no danger of pregnancy even if something happens there are medical methods to abort which your doctor will help you with.

Dont use any fizzy drinks.

you can use a prokinetic or syrup cremaffin for help.

Don't worry stay calm , this can be ipill's side effect because it disturbs one's hormonal balance, things are expected to settle down soon just wait and see how things go , give it time till your peiod if it comes on time there is nothing to worry.Don't get worried before there is any reason to get worried.

Sir spotting noticed is brownish red and has very very bad odour. The smell is unbearable. is it normal. bit worried. thanks for the reply

Bad odour can suggest some infection or old clogged blood,

for that there are some other symptoms,

1) Did you get any fever lately?

2 ) Does it itch in genitals?

3) Do you feel burning sensation when you urinate?

4) For how many days are you observing the spotting?

5 ) Did you get bleeding after iPill?

pls note following as u asked :
1. there has not been any fever although once felt feverish yesterday.
2. it itches in genitals sometimes.
3. there is no burning sensation while urinating. urine is normal no blood observed.
4. have been observing spotting since last 3 days. I e about 10 11 days after taking ipill.
5. there has been no bleeding after taking ipill.

additionally body ache and tiredness weakness is felt many times since then. lower abdominal pain and period like pain persists today. feels like periods but only spotting is observed. confused as to what's happening.

According to your answers and how the things are going.

In my opinion there shouldn't be any issues with you,

You can wait for your periods and don't worry about spotting.

You are just responding differently to ipill nothing else,

I believe after you get your periods things will get OK by them self.

What you have to do is to just wait for your periods , don't panic, I believe you will get periods in time even if you get irregular periods worry not this is normal after ipill.

Just stay calm and don't worry much.

Don't worry for pregnancy yet, if you miss period then you can get a urine test otherwise don't worry I don't think you will miss the period.
