Question: I have been having mild stomach pains the past 4days. It's lightened up as I stopped eating cheesy and dairy goods. Sometimes it was bad enough to give me nausea from the smell of food. I've been drinking ensure because I couldn't eat anything.

Brief Answer: Peptic ulcer. Detailed Answer: Hello! Thank you for the query. Stomach pain (upper middle abdominal pain) along with nausea, lack of appetite indicate peptic ulcer or stomach inflammation. The pain is usually dull, does not go away after pain killers. It also does not radiate to the back. Spicy foods, alcohol, coffee can trigger the pain. I suggest you to visit your doctor and have abdominal ultrasound done at first (to rule out gallstones). If it will be negative, gastroscopy should be done. In a meanwhile please avoid fatty foods, spicy foods, alcohol, coffee, orange juice, chocolate. Hope this will help. Feel free to ask further questions. Regards.

Brief Answer: . Detailed Answer: Yes, food poisoning is also a possibility. But this gives usually loose stools or diarrhea. Food poisoning can also trigger stomach issues. If you feel this might be food poisoning, start probiotic intake and have mild diet. If in few days it wont help, than gastroscopy should be done.

Brief Answer: . Detailed Answer: As you have had some nausea and loss of appetite, your organism could get mildly dehydrated. Most likely now your organism is trying to overcompensate it. Good indicators of proper body hydration is amount of urine, blood pressure, heart rate. If you urinate as usual or a little bit more, your heart rate is around 70-80, blood pressure is regular and there is no legs swelling, shortness of breath, everything is fine. It can take few days for your body to get back to normal. Regards.
