Question : My husband has temp of 102
should I have him checked? Has a bad cough also

A temperature of 102 almost always signifies a bacterial infection. It will require treatment with antibiotics like levofloxacin once daily for 5 days so please get it checked.
In the mean time here are my suggestions

1. Keep him warm
2. Avoid cold food and beverages
3. Avoid milk and milk products
4. Tab tylenol can be given three times day to bring down fever
5. Cough expectorants are available over the counter. You can give 2 tsp three times a day but watch out for excessive sleepiness
