Brief Answer:
EGD does not rule out all conditions sir

Detailed Answer:
Hello sir and welcome.

Thank you for writing to us.

I have gone through your query with diligence and would like you to know that I am here to help. A clean esophagogastroduodenoscopy (EGD) is indeed good news, but I would like you to share the printed report with me as well, as certain aspects of an investigation may not be important enough to share with the patient, but it may reveal a lot to a doctor, so I would appreciate it if you would share the report with me.

The next thing I would like to talk about is that although a gastroesophageal reflux disease(GERD) can be diagnosed using an EGD, a simple acid reflux is not always caught on the investigation. So to continue the medication as long as you have the symptoms is indeed a wise decision.

Your doctor chose to continue the medications as you have your symptoms sir, and although the EGD did not pick up anything you still have your symptoms which means you still have some underlying cause. Continue what your doctor prescribes sir, but also try to follow the below mentioned suggestions:

-Drink plenty of water
-Avoid spicy food
-Avoid oily/fatty/fried food
-Avoid alcohol
-Avoid smoking
-Avoid long gaps between meals
-Have 5-6 small meals instead of having 2-3 larger meals

I hope you find my response helpful sir. Please feel free to write back to me for any further clarifications, I would be more than happy to help you.

Best wishes.
