Question: Hi,
I got my IUI done on 20th XXXXXXX My last menstrual cycle was on 8th XXXXXXX and I have a regular 28 days cycle.
I was given Humog and subsequent Sefasi for ovulation.
On the day IUI was done, below was the U/S recording
12th Day Right Ovary: RT(mm)-12,10,6,6
Left Ovary: 26,13,13,12,15
ET:8.5mm
Although rupture did not take place, Doctor did the IUI(it was only done once). Now, today i.e 29th XXXXXXX I got my periods(scanty bleeding) but I am having pain for impending flow.
Please answer my question, was the IUI done correctly? Why did I get my periods 10day before.
My E2,FSH and LH was checked and it was normal. Doctor also checked for any cyst and it was normal. I am anxious and confused.

Brief Answer:
IUI protocol

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
According to the USG done you left ovary shows one good follicle. But the right follicles are not adequate. Unless there is ovulation and release of the egg, IUI wont work. It is usually done after the rupture. Your IUI was done on day 13 before rupture. The doctor took a chance that there may be ovulation within a day or so and did the IUI. Im afraid with IUI sometimes, these chances have to be taken. As to why you are having bleeding early, its probably due to hormone imbalance. It does happen to be a bit late for implantation bleeding so there is a possibility.
Delayed conception is rare. I believe that you need to continue ovulation induction drugs as your follicles need to be more adequate. As i said, ovulation is important. If the bleeding remains scanty over the next few days, so a pregnancy test after 10 days.

Hi,
My periods have started in a full fledged manner. I also read on the net that early periods after iui would happen for women with progesterone defficiency. Please advice, also what precautions I need to take so that my next iui does not fail.thanks!
please reply to my query.
My periods started 10 days earlier. 20th XXXXXXX my iui was done(details in the first question) and on 30th XXXXXXX i got my periods. My last menstrual cycle was on 8th of XXXXXXX
I was given Humog 150 iu from 10-15th XXXXXXX and then sefasi.
My AMH is 8.20 pmol/lit, my doctor says it signifies low ovarian reserve, however my ovaries are responding well when on stimulation.
This cycle on day 2 below is my scan result
Day 2: 31st XXXXXXX 14
RT(mm)-10,6,5
LT(mm)-16,9,7,6,6,6
ET-3.4 mm

I am confused and totally perplexed with the failed IUI and low reserve. Please help to advise.
My fasting sugar was 103 so doctor asked me to take Glycomet 500mg.
Doctor suggests that she doesnt know why the iui failed, it could be because of poor egg quality but she is not certain as that can be ascertained only during IVF.

Brief Answer:
Unlikely to be progesterone deficiency

Detailed Answer:
hi, firstly I don't think that progesterone deficiency is an issue here. you would not respond to treatment if you did. i would advise follicular monitoring from day 8 to find out if your you are ovulating . from what you said earlier there was no rupture. also some estrogen support might be helpful to increase the endometrial thickness. if required you may need ovulation induction . you can continue the glycomet as there is no harm. but next time IUI should be tried after rupture. progesterone support should be started from day. 16 for 10 days. Hsg should have been done to rule out any blocks .
