Question : I am new to this. I tested my sugar today and it read 80. My doctor said that I am pre-diabetic. I can not seem to find what the # are and what they mean. Where can I get this info?
Brief Answer:
About Diabetes diagnosis;
Detailed Answer:
Hello and thank you for asking.
Normally the blood sugar should be 70-100 fasting and up to 140 mg/dl after eating.
You should check also the HbA1c level that shows the mean value of the blood sugar of the last 3 months.
If it is over 5.7% is suggestive for prediabetes and over 6.5% for Diabetes.
Please do not hesitate to ask if you have still queries.
