Question : Dear Doctor, I have just had my annual physical exam with my family doctor, including a bone density scan. I would like to see an expert osteoporosis person for a second opinion about what to do next, given my scan results are borderline. Who would you recommend in the US? Also, I'm concerned about starting to take Fosamax. Should I be concerned? Thank you,

You can take weekly Fosamax therapy for osteoporotia and to prevent fractures due to the same.

It is usually well tolerated and taken with Calcium and Vitamin D therapy.

I would like to help you further if you could provide me the region that you are staying at.

It would be great to consult an Orthopaedic surgeon or Endocrinologist at Mayo Clinic in this regard.
