What Does The Following Hip X-ray Report Indicate?
Question: Hi Doctor, One of my neighbour who is now 66yrs had undergone right hip replacement 10yrs back. Now when they have done X-ray of hip joint it shows osteopenic bones and degenerative changes in the form of reduction in joint space and acetabular oestophytes with mild superior migration of femoral head. Please suggest what will be her prognosis in future

Osteopenic bones and degenerative changes and oestophytes are degerative changes due to aging .She can take pain killer tab along with calcium supplement and glucosamine for 3-4 month.If no improvement than revision of hip replacement can be also done.
