Brief Answer:
It is part of ageing

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
I am Dr.Rajesh Teli,MD.
I have gone through your query.
Thanks for using HCM.
As such as a part of ageing process there is thickening of wall of arteries and valves.over this
Process there is deposition of fat. This process is called atherosclerosis This ageging process is called senile atherosclerosis.when such process valve there is risk of narrowing or leakage of valve.that is called stenosis or regurgitation .
In his case though aortic valve is affected by this process ,but has not narrowed or leaked.so it is good feature.just similarly with age there is increased stiffness of ventricles which is indicated by diastolic dysfunction .interpretation of LV mass is suggestive of thickened wall.
His age 51 is bit young for this process ,hence I suggest you to look for Diabetes and get lipid profile done which may lead to this process early. If he is hypertensive ,he must continue regular medication.
My best wishes
Dr.Teli,MD

my father already has high-BP and sugar problem. the doctor who took the tests told him that the cholesterol level is high and advised to avoid the intake of oily food items. is this suggestion sufficient enough?
given that this test was done almost 2 months back, a re-check at the earliest is necessary?

Brief Answer:
control high BP and Sugar

Detailed Answer:
hello,
Your Blood pressure must be controlled properly with regular medicines.BP must remain below 130/80.
Diabetes must be regularly checked. His fasting blood sugar should be between 100 and 110.His post meal blood sugar should be less than 160 and HbA1C should be below 7%.Total cholesterol should below 150 mg.If these tests were done before 2 months i suggest you to get 1.FBS and PPBS.2.Lipid profile 3.HbA1c. and inform me reports.
His Echo should be repeated after one year unless there is any heart problem in between. His Echo findings are contributed by Diabetes,Hypertension and High cholesterol.LVEF is pumping ability of heart and that is normal in your case.
My best wishes
Dr.Teli.
