Question : Hi

I am 30 years of age. My wife has a misscarriage last year. Since then we are trying for a baby. I did my semen analysis to check if i have any problems from myside. My semen analysis says "NORMOZOOSPERMIA" Count : 82 Million/ml, Volume - 2,5 ml, Active progressive - 60%, Sluggish - 5%, non motile - 35%, Morphology - normal sperms 5%.

I would like to know wether my sperm morphology is causing problem as it is just 5%. Kindly advice.

Brief Answer:
Normal Semen analysis

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

I understand your concerns about semen analysis.

Your sperm count and other parameters are normal. You dont need any medicines or treatment.

You can easily father a child with this report.

Sperm morphology more than 4 % is normal. Hence 5 % is normal and nothing to worry about.

Miscarriage is unlikely to be due to your semen defect.

Let me know if you need anymore help.

Dear Doctor

Thanks for your reply. Much relieved !!

My wife underwent a HSG test and was diagnosed to be having "Narrow Utrine Cavity" and "Distal hydrosalpinx" in the left fallopian tube. Right tube is very normal. She has also been diagnosed with mild PCOS and her periods are very regular and normal. Her Thyroid is in control.

Kindly advice whether we can have a baby through natural methods or we need IUI or IVF treatments.

Brief Answer:
Hysteroscopy and Laparscopy required

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Yur wife's HSG report is a concern.

Narrow uterib=ne cavity with hydrosalpinx could be a reason for miscarriage.

You have to get hysteroscopy and laparoscopy to assess uterine cavity and hydrosalpinx and treat the same according to report.

IUI or IVF option can only be decided after hysterolaparoscopy.

Thanks for your reply.

I would like to know whether the Narrow Utrine cavity will increase the risk of another miscarriage?? Will a Narrow utrine cavity always lead to a miscarriage??

We are currently trying for a baby this month and would like to give a try few more months.

Kindly Advice.

Brief Answer:
Narrow cavity increases miscarriage chances.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Narrow uterine cavity increases chance of miscarriage.

Better to go for hysterolaparoscopy and then keep trying as you have suffered miscarriage already.
