What Does The Following Thyroid Test Report Indicate?

Question: I have done a thyriod profile recently and the results for T3 and T4 seem to be within the normal range but my TSH is 5.42. Do I need to go for medication?
Brief Answer:
Subclinical hypothyroidism.
Detailed Answer:
Welcome To HCM. I am Dr Anshul Varshney.
I understand your concern.
This is subclinical hypothyroidism. This doesn't requite treatment.
We treat patients with Subclinical hypothyroidism only if the TSH level is more then 10.
In case it is less then 10 we treat only of the person has symptoms of hypothyroidism.
At this value I won't advise treatment.
You just require monitoring. Get your thyroid profile repeated after 3 months.
I hope it helps.
If you have any further query, please ask me.
