Posted on Tue, 14 Feb 2017
Question: I wanted to know if there is an accurate way to determine estimated time of conception, if I have forgotten when my LMP was. I am certain I became pregnant at the end of December, 2015 between December 20th - January 1st, however based on my first U/S on March 21, 2016, my gestational aging was as follows: GA by "stated dating" 23 w + 1 d
EDD by "stated dating": 9/20/2016
Ultrasound examination on: 5/25/2016
GA by U/S based upon: AC, BPD, Femur, HC
GA by U/S 23 w + 4 d
EDD by U/S: 9/17/2016
Assigned: Dating performed on 3/21/2016, based on ultrasound (AC, BPD,
Femur, HC)
Assigned GA 24 w + 3 d
Assigned EDD: 9/11/2016
My son was born approximately 7 weeks premature on August 3, 2016 at 33 w + 1d, please let me know if you can give me a clearer explanation of when I conceived.

Brief Answer:
There is no way to determine an accurate time of conception

Detailed Answer:
Hi dear and thanks for your query to HCM.

I have read carefully your question and reviewed your attached reports.

I'm sorry but there is no way to determine an accurate time of conception.

But from all data you have written above and ultrasound scan you have reported, the possible time when you have conceived can be form 24 of December to 30 December'2016, if your cycle is in every 28 days, because it is the possible time of ovulation.

Hope I was helpful. Feel free to ask further in case of any doubts.

Best regards

Thank you yes this helps very much. So, then is it possible that I could have conceived on December 12th given the medical evidence documented and the situation I explained given how many weeks my son was born (33 w and 1 day) by my simple math, if I add up to "40 weeks" that gave me the due date of 9/20/16. I don't believe so because I would have been further along in my pregnancy correct?

Brief Answer:
Explanation is given below....

Detailed Answer:
Hi dear again!

As per your attached reports there are no chances that you have conceived on December 12th .
But as I have mentioned earlier, you may have conceived in between 24 to 30 of December 2016, and your last menstrual period may have been around 12-14 December 2016.

Due date is calculated from your ultrasound scan and it adds up to 40 weeks.

Hope I was helpful. Feel free to ask further in case of any doubts.

Best regards
