Question : I am 12 days over due of my periods.I got the ultrasound done and found dominant follicle on my left ovary 16mm*15mm*15mm vol1.9cm. Definately not pregnant. Will i get periods and when. I am also having sore breast since two days under arms which i usually have before my periods start. Can you enlighten whats going on

The presence of follicle in the ovary can be due to a corpus luteum cyst. The delay in periods can be due to pregnancy or hormonal disturbance.

Anxiety related to impending pregnancy can also cause such a delay.

It is best to do a urine test for pregnancy and in case the test is negative then have hormonal tablets to get a withdrawal bleeding after consulting your gynecologist.
