Posted on Wed, 6 May 2015
Question: I am a 70 yr old woman, I recently had blood test done, and my kidney function came back borderline. I can't get ahold of anyone at my doctor's office to explain this to me. I am not diabetic.

Brief Answer:
Nothing to worry about

Detailed Answer:
Hi and welcome to HCM.
If there was only borderline kidney functional tests then you should not be concerned. SUch findings can be found in people with normal kidney function especially in those who are dehydrated, drink less fluids, or have any heart disease. ALso, urinary infection may cause it as well. At this point you should just wait and see will some symptoms occur. try to drink more fluids and raspberry tea and repeat test in 1 month. if findings are worsening you should do kidney ultrasound or scintigraphy, check for uroinfection and do autoimmune kidney testing. Wish you good health. Regards
