Question : Just got result of my ECG sent to me on-line. It says it was an "abnormal ECG." However, when my primary care doctor looked at the results when I was in his office last week he indicated that it was a normal test. Here's the message I received on-line: "Sinus rhythm, rate 70. First degree AV deviation. Borderline left axis deviation." Should I be concerned?

Brief Answer:
There is no reason to get worried. However, get it reviewed by a cardilogist

Detailed Answer:
Hi and thanks for this query.

I am so sorry to hear about this result and all the inconveniences this has caused you. The unfortunate thing is that the machine automatically interprets and never really gets it always right. a physician has to make the final call. That's why sticking to what your PCP said makes more sense. However, if you have any worries, you may want to talk to a cardiologist for review and further interpretation of this ECG strip for you to be even more convinced.

I hope this helps. I wish you well. Thanks for using our services and feel free to ask for more information and clarifications if need be.
