My doctor was unable to explain the results to me and has referred me to a neurologist, which could take weeks. Are you able to explain the results at all? Thank you

Brief Answer:
Probably Multiple sclerosis.
Detailed Answer:
Hello and thanks for using HCM.
I have read your question and understand your concerns.
MRI was done without intravenous contrast, however, regarding to both your symptoms and MRI findings, most possible condition is Multiple sclerosis.
In other words, these MRI findings could be related to Multiple sclerosis, an autoimmune disease, or another possibility is small artery disease of the brain usually encountered in old people.
Clinical examination and confronting its results with MRI findings is indispensable at this moment.
Consult your Neurologist.
Hope you found the answer helpful.
Take care.
