What Does This NT Scan Report Indicate?

Question: Hi, Today I am 16weeks 3days pregnant with twins. In my 12 week NT Scan the Cervix length was found as 3.2cm. And today through Early Anomoly Scan my Cervix length found as 2.8cm.
One of my Placenta is posterior low lying reaching upto OS. This Placenta observation is same in both NT Scan & today's Early Anomoly Scan.
My Doctor is recommending for Cervical Circlage before 18weeks. She is saying that for twins we have a protocol for circlage. I checked online and found the circlage doesn't help always. And may have some side effect also. As of now every thing is fine with the pregnancy. can I have a second opinion on Cervical Cerclage requirement

Brief Answer:
You can go for it.

Detailed Answer:
Hello dear,

Thanks for trusting hcm about your health care.

I have gone through your history and understand your concerns.

The normal cervical length at 16 weeks is 4-4.5cm.

As in your case it is 2.8 cm you must go for cerclage operation as it is usually done when cervical length is less than 2.5cm.

But yes there are some chances of complications but they are very rare if done under expert hands.

So you can go for the same as it may prevent premature delivery and misscarriage.

Hope found useful, feel free to ask more information.
Good luck.

Below is the comments for my Placenta Location from Early Anomoly Sonography done today:

Placenta of Fetus A & B is posterior. Placenta of Fetus B is posterior low lying reaching upto OS.

Is Low Lying reaching upto OS Placenta have any extra complication in cerclage compare to not low lying Placenta ?
