Question : I AM A WOMAN AGED 51. I HAD BEEN PRESCRIBED THYRONORM BY MY ORTHOPAEDIC ALONG WITH OTHER MEDICINES. NOW ORTHOPAEDIC PROBLEM IS GONE. I HAVE BEEN TAKING THYRONORN 37.5 SINCE LAST ONE YAER. MY PRESENT LEVEL OF TSH IS 6.6(CHECKED 2 DAYS BACK).WHAT DOSE OF THYRONORM SHOULD I TAKE NOW.

I have gone through your query and understand your concern. The TSH level is slightly raised and so dose alteration is advisable. If I had a patient like you, I would probably have suggested a dose of 50 mcg per day. You should discuss with your treating physician before altering the dose.
