Question: My Tsh level on my most recent blood test is .91 and in apriil it was 1.27 that is a big drop in a short time is it not, also my free t4 is 22 that is almost at the top of the range, my free t3 is more normal at 4, does it look like my thyroid is going towards hyperthyroidism or overactive thyroid. I have a lot of the symptoms as well

Brief Answer:
it is possible but because still in normal range would need monitoring

Detailed Answer:
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

You are correct in stating that this is a big difference in results between these sets of results.

It is possible that there may be further changes (decreases in the TSH and increases in the T4) that may classify as hyperthyroid but for now, since they are still within the normal range, you would still be considered to have normal function.

Your doctor may opt to repeat the tests within a few weeks to three months, to see if there is any change in the values.

If this occurs then further blood tests to check uptake of iodine and possibly an ultrasound, may be needed.

Medication would includes two main types: (a) to control symptoms eg palpitations, tremors etc
(B)to decrease hormone levels

Radioactive iodine is also sometimes used to permanently decrease hormone levels.

I hope this helps, feel free to ask any other questions
