What Does This Blood Report Indicate?

My PCP (Internist) has been tracking my blood, WBC 11.8, INR 1.2, PT 12.1., Neut 7.1, Lymph 3.6
Other tests in CBC were ok.
I have seen an oncologist/hematologist but she doesn't really do anything. I'm supposed to see her for Aug.31.
I don't understand what they are checking for. Could you tell me what the dr. suspects I might have? He told me to repeat the WBC & INR. Thank you so much. From Mrs. XXXXXXX XXXX

Detailed Answer:
hello and thank you for sending the question.
It appears that your doctors are tracking your white blood cell count. Currently your white blood cell count is just mildly elevated. There are number of possible contributing factors.
You did mention that you have received a Cortizone injections in the past. This can sometimes cause a very mild elevation of the total white blood cell count. This may last for a week or two after the injection. I'm not sure if thiscorresponds to when your last complete blood count was XXXXXXX
Your doctors are looking to see if there is a trend or increase in your total white blood cell count. This could indicate an underlying bone marrow disorder if the white blood cell count trends higher or if you start to develop anemia or low platelet count.
I have many patients who I have seen in the clinic who have a very mild elevation of white blood cell count and no significant or dangerous underlying problem. I generally follow these patients overtime to make sure their counts remain stable.
The mild elevation of the PT/INR is likely not significant and can fluctuate a bit over time. it's reasonable to check this again with your CBC in August.
It does not appear that you have a blood disorder at this point. your doctors are making sure to follow your labs closely to assure that things remain stable.
Thank you again for sending your query.
Sincerely,
Dr Galamaga

Detailed Answer:
Hello again,
The hemoglobin level is used to measure for anemia. if your hemoglobin level is below normal then this would be regarded as anemia. Currently you have no evidence of anemia and your doctors will continue to monitor for any changes in your blood count. I suspect that things will remain quite stable at your Followup visit.
Thank you again for your query.
sincerely,
Dr Galamaga
