Brief Answer:
It is normal. Nothing to be concerned about.

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for asking on HealthcareMagic.

I have gone through your query and understand your concerns. Let me assure you that for a baby of this age, it is normal to pass stool several times a day or even after each feed. Alternatively the child may pass stool once in 10 days and that is normal too. It is also normal to pass green stool or a combination of yellow stool. The green colour occurs due to rapid transit through large intestine where the bile pigments do not get adequate time to convert to the yellow colour of stool. It is OK for some mucus to be there in the stool. I have checked the reports. They are normal and nothing to be concerned about. No intervention needed.

Feel free to write back.

Thanks for your reply. But if you see, in the attached report few of elements are not normal, - Hemoglobin is low, Lymphocyle is high like that .. is there any other reason for that or is it because of Loose motion.?

Also, fever and cough – I just want to understand is this because of Loose motion or should be any other reason..?

While coughing baby is feeling difficulty to breath. However, doctor has suggested medicine for Cough.

And the last, Is it require baby's mother to control he foods ..?

Questions answered one by one.

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for writing back. A hemoglobin level of 11.2 g/dl is acceptable although a higher level would definitely be preferable. You can give some iron supplements like Orofer XT drops 0.5 ml once daily and that should take care of the situation. It has nothing to do with the stool.

A total WBC count of 8200 is perfectly normal and the lymphocyte count does not matter. If the WBC count was high and neutrophil count was high that would have indicated a bacterial infection. But that is not the case and so there is nothing to worry about. Lymphocyte count could be raised in viral infections but these are self limiting and you need not worry.

I do not think that the loose motions are due to an other reason.

You need to give steam inhalation to your child. It helps in reducing the congestion. Just sit with your child on your lap and place the source of steam before you. The water vapor will be in the air and automatically the child will breathe it in. Water vapor will reach deep inside and would help in diluting the cough and thus would provide relief. Use Nasoclear Saline Nasal Drops in case of nose block.

If your child has fever with temperature more than 100°F, you need to give paracetamol or acetaminophen (P-250, Crocin or Tylenol) to it bring down. Also use tepid sponging.

Hopefully that would help. Feel free to write back in case of further queries.

No specific food restrictions for the mother. She can eat a normal wholesome diet.
