Question : Is a score of 111 glucose on a blood test without fasting indicative of diabetes.

No it is not diabetes

Detailed Answer:

Welcome to HCM. I have gone through the question and understand your concerns.

There are 2 situation regarding high blood sugars.

1. Pre diabetes (risk of developing diabetes)

Fasting blood glucose : 100 -125 mg/dl
Random or 2 hours after food : 140-199 mg/dl

2. Diabetes

Fasting blood glucose : 126 mg/dl and above
Random or 2 hours after food : 200 mg/dl and above

So a random sugar of 111 mg/dl is not indicative of diabetes or pre diabetes.
