Question : I just got lab results back and they indicate that I have an Alkaline Phosphate number of 124, and ASP level of 67, and an ALT level of 125. I am a 50 year old woman. What can I expect these numbers indicate?

Brief Answer:
These are mildly raised levels of liver function tests

Detailed Answer:
Hi! Welcome to Health Care Magic! Thanks for sharing your concerns with us.
I have read your concerns and will try to help you in best way possible.

Based on the test results that you have mentioned, it seems that there is mild derangement in your liver function tests. In majority of the cases it is usually due to fatty depositions in liver called fatty liver disease but it can be confirmed on a liver ultrasound.

In any case with such test reports, it would be more appropriate to have an ultrasound abdomen for size, margins and echogenecity of liver with all the related structural details.

Also get a viral serology for hepatitis B and C to rule out chronic liver disease. If these turn out to be normal then discuss for further causes of such derangement with a gastroentrologist including any need of further workup like any autoimmune or metabolic disease after initial blood work up and a detailed examination.

Hope this has answered your query, if you have any more questions, feel free to ask.
