Question : what would a tsh level of 74 mean
Brief Answer:
hello
Detailed Answer:
Hello
Good day.
A TSH of 74 could mean few things.
1. Hypothyroidism. Primary hypothyroidism is the commonest condition with this high TSH.
2. If you are on treatment already with tthyroxine, this TSH value indicate that you are under replaced.
3. Rare possibility of TSH producing pituitary lesion.
4. Very very rare Macro thyrotropin. Which means that TSH molecules are just large. Other than that it has no relevance.
To decide further we need to do Free T4 and Anti TPO.
Do you have an enlarged thyroid ?
