Question : Hi, Doctor,
i recently had my body check up done and i am not sure about certain things related to ASPARTATE AMINOTRANSFERASE (SGOT) & ALANINE TRANSAMINASE (SGPT). I got these values above the reference range and my age is 29 years. Could you please take a look at the report attached here. The figures are available at page 4 on this report.
Thanks!

Brief Answer:
Fatty liver

Detailed Answer:
Hello

Thanks for getting back, I am sorry for the short delay in my reply. I was on call at my hospital.

Here are my suggestions

Your increase in liver enzymes is most likely to be due to deposition of fat around the liver. This is known as fatty liver and it is common. However for the sake of completion please get viral markers of hepatitis done that is Hepatitis B and C.

1. Try and avoid high fat and colorie food from now on.
2. Your ideal weight would be 70-75kg, try to achieve this goal over one year
3. You will have to perform bending exercises in order to lose belly fat
4. avoid alcohol, do not consume alcohol more than once a week and that too in moderation
5. Please get an Ultrasound scan of the abdomen to confirm the diagnosis

I hope I was of help, if you have any doubts at all please get back to me

Regards
