Brief Answer:
Drop in white blood cell count due to the radiation therapy

Detailed Answer:
Hello ma'am and welcome.

Thank you for writing to us.

I have gone through your query with diligence and would like you to know that I am here to help. Radiation therapy used to kill harmful (cancer) cells can also cause damage/harm to white blood cells (lymphocytes) in the process causing their decline as long as they are on radiation therapy.

But the patient in speaking here has a very low level of lymphocytes which may result in a very poor immunity and make them easily susceptible/vulnerable to a host of issues (e.g. minor infections becoming serious, etc.). Please make sure your prescribing doctor is well aware of your levels and works towards correcting it accordingly.

I hope you find my response both helpful and informative. Please feel free to write back to me for any further clarifications, I am always here to help.

Best wishes.
