                                            Question : Hi im 38 y/o female with recent mammogram result of the following: FINDINGS: Craniocaudal and mediolateral oblique projections of the bilateral
breasts demonstrate
heterogenous fibroglandular tissue with scattered components. Increased
fibronodular parenchymal changes
in the upper inner quadrant of the right breast, most prominent on the
craniocaudal view measuring 1 cm 5
cm from the nipple. No additional dominant masses, spiculated lesions or grouped
microcalcifications. No
enlarged lymph nodes.
IMPRESSION:
1. Increased ill-defined fibronodular changes in the right breast at 2 to 3:00
middle to posterior.
Tomosynthesis of the right breast is recommended. Ultrasound may be necessary.
2. Unremarkable similar left breast.
DENSITY: C - The breasts are heterogeneously dense, which may obscure small
masses.

i forgot to mention this...BI-RADS: 0 - NEED ADDITIONAL IMAGING EVALUATION
i have a family h/o breast Cancer so im very scared

Hello dear. The breast of a young girl are dense and firm and hence you are seeing the finding s of heterogenous nodules with dense substance. Due to increased density, small diseased nodules may be missed. These can be picked on ultrasound if they are there. Hence for complete examination, an ultrasound is necessary in young age like yours.
