What Does This Semen Analysis Report Indicate?

Question : Hi, My Semen Analysis report says 20% of Active motility and 30% are sluggish and 50% are dead. What to do to increase motility. Morphology : 55% normal. Colour : Greyish. Sperm Concentra
Further to below, My wife had once still-born baby and 6 month ago ectopic pregnancy. Now we are planning for a baby. However, during semen analysis we noticed that my active sperm motility is low just 20% and doctor gave me an infection tablets.
ORANI-O and Pantocid
Guide me what next we have to do. do we need to go for IVF and will you help me out in increasing my motility sperm counts.

Hi ,

I understand your concerns about low sperm motility.

Following is my reply:

1. Total sperm motility fast + sluggish is 50 % which is satisfactory and normal motility. You dont need any treatment.

2. Since your wife was pregnant twice it shows your sperm parameters are excellent.

3. Dont worry about your semen analysis report.

4. If her tube is removed due to ectopic pregnancy, she might require IVF and not otherwise.

Hi XXXXXXX Koregol,

Appreciated your prompt response.

Through Methotrexate treatment, ectopic pregnancy has been removed and HCG report shows everything is normal.

She had a chocolate cyst and removed via laparoscopy surgery 4 year ago. (Before still-born baby).

Now, Ultra sound scan report shows a cyst measuring 3.6 X 2.4 cm in the right ovary in which last time had an ectopic.

Our concern is would again the cyst will prevent for pregnancy or leading to one more ectopic? Do we need to go for checking her tubs whether they are normal or not. If yes, what steps we have to be taken like HSG or any other way to identify it.

Last but not the least our big concern is : How to prevent from one more ectopic?

I am sorry If I posed of questions. Why are we worrying much because age is also one of the another factor. I am 37 year old and my wife is 35.

Ectopic pregnancy is unlikely to recur

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Since HSG shows normal tubes , you don't need anymore tubal tests.

Ectopic pregnancy is not due to cyst and generally does not recur.

Though you can conceive naturally, considering age and other factors better to go for IVF.

Don't worry about cyst.
