Question: Semen Analysis Report.Is it normal and can it be treated ?

Viscosity : Normal
Liquefaction time : 30 Minutes 20 - 30 Minutes
Biochemical Analysis
(Qualitative)
Fructose : Present Present
Microscopic
Total Sperm Count. : 48 Millions/ml > 15 Million /ml
Agglutination : Absent Absent
Total Motility *(a+b)

a)Progressive Motility : 25%
b)Non Progressive Motility : 15%
Non motile : 60%

MORPHOLOGY*

Normal forms : 40 %
Abnormal forms : 60 %

Pus Cells : 12-15 /HPF 0 - 1/HPF
Epithelial Cells : 8-10 /HPF 0 - 8/HPF
Spermatogenic Cells : Not seen
RBC : Nil
Impression : NORMAL COUNT WITH DECREASED ACTIVE MOTILITY WITH EVIDENCE OF INFECTION

Can this be treated .. is it a major issue .. can we have a baby ...

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

I saw the attached semen analysis report.

This shows evidence of semen infection. This infection has probably lead to slight reduction in motility.

This is small problem and can easily be treated with antibiotics.

I suggest you give semen for culture and sensitivity test done to identify the organism causing infection and the antibiotics it is responsive to.

This infection can be treated easily.
