Question : Hi Doctor,
I have been suffering from Cold since one month to 1.5 months. If I stay in A.C, Cold is getting worse. Because of this, nostrils are getting blocked. I consulted ENT doctor and he asked me to take CTScan.

After looking at the scan report, he told that I have synus and there is a bend in my nose. He suggested me to go ahead with Operation.

Please suggest me whether the operation is required or not and suggest me some medicines.

Brief Answer:
Medications can be tried.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Welcome to healthcare magic.
I had gone through your question.
I can understand your concern.
The report says there is sinusitis and deviation of septum. You can go for surgery if you have chronic headache and or nasal block. Otherwise you can try medications and if there is no improvement or if there is recurrence you can go for surgery.
I recommend the following.
1) Steroid nasal spray.
2) Decongestant nasal spray for 5 days
3) Steam inhalation with vapo caps.
4) Analgesic like tablet paracetamol if there is headache.
5) Continue tablet levocetrizine with montelukast prescribed by your doctor for 14 days.
You will be fine.
Hope I have answered your question. If you have any questions, I am happy to help.
Wish you a good health and speedy recovery.

Brief Answer:
Recurrence

Detailed Answer:
Hi ,
Thanks for the follow up.
There will be recurrence even after the surgery sometime. But you get disease free interval for few years.
Regarding precautions:
If you are smoker you need to stop at least a month before surgery.

Wish you a good health.

Take care
