Brief Answer:
Surgery needed only if necessary

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

I understand your concerns about fibroid uterus and dilemma you are facing for operating.

Fibroids are common at your age. If they are not causing any problems like pain abdomen or excessive menstrual bleeding, don't get them operated. Leave them alone.

If you are trying for pregnancy or have any symptoms like mentioned above, you might need to get fibroids removed.

Hope this answer clarifies your doubts.

Let me know if you need any more clarifications.

Brief Answer:
Laparoscopic myomectomy is best

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thanks for detailing me about symptoms you have.

Unfortunately there are no effective medicines to cure or shrink the fibroids of this big size.

Considering your symptoms, size of fibroid and age I consider it will be best if you undergo removal of fibroids surgery by laparoscopy. This is surgery is called laparoscopic myomectomy.

Let me know if you wish to know more information.

Brief Answer:
Laparosopic myomectomy explained

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Let me explain you some aspects of laparoscopic myomectomy.

Laparoscopic myomectomy means removal of fibroid. through 3 small key holes in abdomen.

In conventional open surgery, abdomen is opened by surgical incision where as in laparoscopic surgery, abdomen is not opened by surgical incision but small holes only and fibroid is removed through instrument called laparoscope.

Laparoscopy is less painful and better in term of long term adhesions development.

It costs between 25 to 55 thousand depending upon different hospitals and surgeon.

No precautions needed for laparoscopy if your health is otherwise good with no other comorbidities.

I hope you got an idea about laparoscopic myomectomy. Let me know if you need additional information.

Dr. Soumya
