What Does This Ultrasound Report Indicate?

Question: I am almost 42 and trying for my first pregnancy. My recent test results were: FSH-5.8, LH-2.4, E2-32.12, PRG 0.60, PRL 24.1, AMH 2.04, FT4 1.11, FT3 3.32, TSH 1.61.
Do I have a chance of getting pregnant through IVF/ICSI with my own eggs? What can I do to improve egg quality and chances of success in general?
Thank you
doctor

Brief Answer:
Chances of conception are there.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for trusting us with your health concern.
Your test results are almost within normal limits. The chances of conception are present with the help of IVF/ ICSI. At your age it sometimes become difficult to conceive with your own eggs.
Do some basic things also to improve fertility:
1) Avoid stress by yoga/deep breathing regularly (20-30 times).
2) Drink plenty of fluids/water and eat leafy vegetables & fruits.
3) Control body weight by regular physical exercise.
4) Maintain personal hygiene and need proper sleeping.

Taking folic acid & vitamin E in preconception period are very much helpful to improve fertility & in brain development of fetus during pregnancy.

Thank you doctor. Why is it difficult to conceive with my own eggs at my age despite normal test results? Is this absolutely age-related, or does it vary among patients? Is there a test (besides PGD) that can predict the likelihood of chromosome or other problems?

I have heard that kariotype testing for both parents before conceiving is also useful. What kind of health problems for the future baby can it predict?

Many thanks!

Brief Answer:
Quality of eggs matters.

Detailed Answer:
Hello.
Thanks for writing to us.
The difficulty in conceiving can be due to age or due to low quality of eggs that is again age related. It does vary among the patients and the chances of conception with your own eggs are present.
Karyotype testing can find out about the various genetic diseases to which your child can be prone to. It is best to get the proper tests done after you conceive to find out any abnormalities.
I hope this information has been helpful for you.
