My wife had undergone an anomaly scan today, the reports of which are attached by me. We can see the gist of the report as "Placenta low lying at present" and "left uterine artery shows early diastolic notching" which was something to ponder upon. Could you please advise on the same ?
Details for my wife are -
Age : 28 yrs
MA : 18 weeks 2 days
EDD : 20/02/2017
She works for a firm located 20 kms from our house, travels by an office bus and returns by cab. Usual travel time one way is 1.5 hours. She is doing well health wise too.
Do let me know if any more details are required. Thanks in advance !
She should take some Precautions
Detailed Answer:
Hello dear,
Thanks for trusting hcm about your health care.
I have gone through your history and understand your concerns.
In her case as placenta is low lying and near to internal os,she should take proper rest, avoid sex, long hours journey etc. to avoid severe bleeding and miscarriage.
Uterine artery notch is normal finding at this stage of pregnancy and it usually disappear by 22 weeks of pregnancy by its own. It is basically showed resistance in uterine artery.
If it persist than the chance of high blood pressure, low birth weight baby and premature delivery may get increased.
In my opinion she should take complete rest, avoid stress, long hours journey.
Hope found useful, feel free to ask more information.
Good luck.
Regards
