Question: Hi.
I had a transvaginal ultra sound last week 1/18/17. The report shows a shadow in my uterus. My last period was 7/ 25/15 . I have had no bleeding since then. In November 2014 they saw a fibroid on my ovary.
In October 2016 I had another transvaginal ultrasound that had a shadow,
The ultrasound on 1/18/17 is the first follow up I have had since the one I had In October 2016.
I have scheduled an abdominal ultrasound in 2 weeks.
Can you tell me what may have caused the shadow?
I am concerned about it.

I am sorry.
My first Trans vaginal ultrasound that showed a shadow was October 2015 "NOT" 2016.

Brief Answer:
possible endometrial polyp

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
thanks for the query to HCM,
If the shadow is inside the uterus then the most likely cause remains an endometrial polyp. unless the shadow is in the wall of uterus, it is unlikely to be a fibroid. Please attach a copy of the latest ultrasound and its pictures for review.
