Brief Answer:
Hi XXXXXXX She can take D-rise 60, one capsule a month with warm milk

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXXXXX welcome to HCM. I have had a look at your wife's reports. Her serum calcium is normal, folic acid normal, TSH normal.

Vitamin D is 10.03 which is deficient and B-12 is 307 which is just above normal. Hi XXXXXXX welcome to HCM, She can take D-rise 60, one capsule a month with warm milk preferably in the morning on empty stomach once a month for 6 months.
And ME 12 OD, one alternate days after meals also for six months. Repeat both after six months.
Now coming to Diet--are you vegetarians or non vegetarians? If the former, are you taking enough Dairy products--milk, curd, paneer.
And does your wife go out in the sun? She should expose herself to sun between 10 am to 2 pm for half an hour daily to get vitamin D (sunlight converts inactive D in the skin to active D). If non-vegetarian, eggs and fatty fish are good sources for both. You can revert back if you have further doubts. Best wishes to you both. Regards

Thanks Dr XXXXXXX for clear reply!

We are vegetarian. My wife takes one bowl of curd almost daily, 1 glass of milk daily & paneer once a week. Her exposure to sun is very rare, normally over the weekend only for few minutes I guess.

I would like to confirm my understanding before we start medication. My understanding is as follows.

1) Vitmain-D capsule once a month for 6-months empty stomach with mils.
2) one Vitamin-B12 tablet on alternate days for 6-months after meal. It means 15 tablets in a month.
3) In your last message, you also mentioned about multivitamin capsule (Astymin M Forte). Can you please confirm if it also needs to be started? And the quantity & timing of dosage?

Thanks & Regards

Brief Answer:
Hi XXXXXXX you have understood correctly.

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXXXXX you have understood correctly.
She does need the D and B-12 supplements as advised by me. Astymin M forte is optional--you can give it alternate days too on the days B-12 is not given. And ensure sun exposure.
